Transferable Skills -Diving into the Film Industry
A community event where members of the community can learn about career opportunities in the film and television industry.
There are several barriers to diversifying the film industry of MA—one of them is access. It’s difficult to get into a business that’s network-based, on who you know. It’s even more difficult when most of the people in that network aren’t from your neighborhood, and don’t look like you. That’s where SSBC’S Konnect comes in. It’s a bridge. It connects those previously without access to the film industry so you can start your network.

THE DROP
comprises a collection of engaging conversations and immersive workshops featuring accomplished and emerging film industry experts. Through these sessions, participants gain valuable insights into the professionals' journeys into the industry, as well as their expertise in their specific areas of focus. This unique opportunity allows individuals to visualize themselves in various industry roles, acquire knowledge, and draw inspiration from the experiences shared.
THE DOJO
is an impactful mentoring program that supports individuals in transitioning into the industry. Qualified candidates participate in a comprehensive workshop and then have the opportunity to shadow industry professionals. This hands-on experience not only enriches their skill set but also comes with a stipend to alleviate any financial challenges. The program is dedicated to providing essential support to individuals who may not have the means to pursue their professional aspirations.
SSBC Actor Forum (AF)
Led by three professional actors who serve as the head of the SSBC Actors Forum. The SSBC AF provides a platform for actors to network, access resources, and receive advice and support.
They lead acting workshops and provide opportunities for actor’s study their craft and showcase their talents.
